GLASS LATHE

Building a custom glassblowing lathe from the ground up.
◐ IN PROGRESS
// ABOUT THIS BUILD //

I'm designing and building a custom glassblowing lathe from scratch. Nothing on the market does exactly what I need at a price that makes sense — so I'm making my own.

The goal is a variable-speed, quiet opperating lathe with a long enough bed for large pieces and a headstock that can move like the tailstock. I am doing my best to docucment the entire process, from design to fabrication and testing sharing both successes and failures.

This is the biggest fabrication project I've taken on. Follow along here for updates.
